When you attend Aurukun Campus you not only represent the high standards of the college but you also represent your family and your community. It is expected that because of this, you will show respect for others and demand the very best education from the Aurukun Campus and Western Cape College staff.
Your teaching team will provide the very best education for you to enable you to make the right choices in your life, develop positive habits of mind, be able to efffectively move between the many cultures of this nation, be transition ready for the Weipa campus, be transition ready to boarding schools around the state or to be work ready for Aurukun and other Cape communites.
The way in which you wear your uniform, sing the campus song, behave at school (and on field trips), and your care for the appearance of the school grounds and school property reflects upon your standards, and the standards of the college.
It is expected that you will participate to the best of your ability, in as many school activities as possible. These activities include class work, homework, sporting activities, cultural activities, service activities (serving on committees, assisting with fund raising, etc).
Once you become involved in a sporting, cultural or social activity it is expected that you will accept responsibility for your part in the activity. If you do not behave as expected, or when the rights of others have been infringed, you must accept there will be consequences, which are fair and reasonable.
All people involved in the campus community will work together to make their experience in the school as productive and satisfying as possible. All people involved in the campus community must continually question the status quo and have the very highest of expections in every facet of education.
