Mapoon Campus First Year Suite 2 Task Descriptors
S2#1 - Which Would You Pick Mapoon or Cairns? Students investigated the world looking at continents and countries then focusing on Peru and Thailand. They studied the countries cultures and compared them to their own definitions of Australian Culture. They created a travel itinerary for an exchange student to Cairns and Mapoon looking at budgets and interests of the student they catered for and reflected on its effectiveness and capacity.

S2#2 - Away With Words This activity was not completed in 2005 due to the roll out from 2004. See Campus Overview.
S2#3 - Personal Health Plan Completed in Grade 7 at Weipa Campus
S2#4 - Why Celebrate Us? The students designed a celebratory event for NAIDOC Day which was presented to the community. The students studied the significance of NAIDOC and organised appropriate items for their celebration. The students organised, performed and ran the whole event and involved the community in the presentation.

S2#5 - Oral Histories Completed in Grade 7 at Weipa Campus
S2#6 - Design Make and Display a Product This activity was not completed in 2005 due to the roll out from 2004. See Campus Overview.
S2#7 - Where is my Place in Space? This task involved the students exploring the Solar System making a physical model on the school oval. The student completed a number of experiments using beans.
