Mary Singleton - College Registrar

Personal

My family and I moved to Weipa two years ago and have enjoyed the hospitality and nature of the town since. Prior to this we were living in Townsville, North Queensland. My working background is in finance and administration and I have gained 14 years of wealth and experience in this field. I have only recently joined the ranks of Education Queensland, transferring across from Queensland Health.

Role

In the role of College Registrar, I am accountable to the Head of Business and Finance. I assist and coordinate with the provision of services, across the range of administrative, financial and human resource management functions for Aurukun, Mapoon and Napranum campuses.

Current focus

The role of College Registrar is a new concept. With the onset and growth of the College it was soon apparent and identified that there was a need for a designated Registrar for the outlying campuses, resulting in the role of College Registrar being created.

My current focus in this position is to create and implement working procedures to meet the requirements of the College hub and have processes inplace to achieve a productive, efficient and enjoyable working environment.

I am sure that there will be obstacles to overcome on this journey, but with the support and input of an excellent team around me, I am sure that we can achieve a positive and valuable end result.
