Welcome Back for the 2006 School Year!
It has been an exciting first week for 2006. We have enjoyed a very smooth start to the year with all of our students displaying an excellent attitude and eagerness to commence their learning as soon as they walked in through the school gate.

All staff at the Mapoon Campus and the families of Mapoon have done some wonderful work getting both the school and the children so well prepared. I look forward to the many inspiring moments ahead throughout this school year as our students engage in their new learning challenges.

I extend a special welcome to our new students and families and extend a friendly welcome back to our continuing students and families.

New Staff

This year we also welcome a new teacher Miss Tammy Hazel. Tammy will be working with our Preschool class and also working closely with Miss Alex in the Year 123 Class. Tammy is originally from Esperance in Western Australia and is keen to continue the hard work done by the Mapoon Staff in 2005. Welcome Tammy.

Our new building is near completion and will house the preschool students until 2007 when the PREP Year begins. The building is state of the art and shows the commitment to education in Mapoon by the Queensland Government.
