Bound for Success

Western Cape College supports the Bound for Success agenda and has taken a proactive approach to its implementation. Education Queensland's Bound for Success: Cape York and Torres Strait Education Strategy is the decision making framework from which the College bases its strategic work. Based on this strategy Western Cape College released the Where to From Here Paper which prompted the College Executive Management Team to analyse each of the 17 actions outlined in the strategy to determine the position of the College.

The result of this analysis was the Are We Bound for Success Positioning Paper and the Bound for Success Accountabilities and Responsibilities Matrix.  These two documents outline the College's priorities and actions until 2008.

Education Queensland has since released the Bound for Success Education Strategy for Cape York which outlines actions to address issues specific to the region.

The Bound for Success priorities for 2006 are outlined in the Are We Bound for Success 2006 Priority Document. This document is also summarised in the Are We Bound for Success presentation. This presentation was delivered to College staff to launch the concept of Bound for Success and ensure its successful implementation. The Journey to Success presentation also was utilised for this purpose and generates understanding about the way Western Cape College approached the Bound for Success strategy for implementation in all Campus sites.

The Bound for Success priorities for 2007 are outlined in the Are We Bound for Success 2007 Priority Document .

In 2007 the College implemented the Quarterly Reporting process outlined in Action 17 of the Bound for Success Education Strategy. The Quarterly reports are published in the College newsletter, presented to local Councils and Parents and Citizen groups and are also available for parents and community members at each Campus site.  The Western Cape College Quaterly Reports are an important tool to pro-actively engage parents and communities in education outcomes.
