On Wednesday, students at three campuses of the Western Cape College were afforded the opportunity to meet and greet the Prime Minister, Mr John Howard.
At 8:30am Wednesday 6th August 2003, Mr Howard and his entourage did a ?walk by students from both Weipa and Napranum who were assembled along the school fence. Mr Howard stopped and chatted to numerous students before presenting an Australian Flag kit to our College student leaders.
The significance of meeting the Prime Minister was contagious, with students and staff being caught up in the excitement. This visit is the first known visit by a current Prime Minister to any of the campuses of the College and one we were delighted to host.
Dallon Guivarra and Shannon Culley accepted the kit on behalf of all students from our Aurukun, Mapoon, Napranum and Weipa Campuses.
