Visual Impairment (VI)
Vision Impairment may be:
- Congenital (present from birth)
- Acquired (through accident, illness or disease)
- Hereditary (genetic, congenital or later onset)
In the educational context visual impairments vary in degrees. They are defined as follows:
- Partially sighted indicates some type of visual problem has required further support through special education.
