Weipa Tuckshop
Welcome back to term two. For those who dont know me, my name is Jo Montague and I have taken over as convenor of the Tuckshop. A big thank you to Michelle, Fiona and Lois who finished up last term, and welcome to Fawn and all the new volunteers. The tuckshop is always looking for volunteers; there are many jobs which range from coming in and baking, helping make sandwiches or helping serve the hungry children. Volunteers are always welcome, "we even provide lunch." The girls and I have made a few changes to the menu and have included curried sausages and rice, egg and bacon muffins and tuna mornay with pasta. These items are orders only. Thursdays will see a daily special and this will be displayed in the tuckshop during the week. Please remember this is orders only. Jo
The Tuckshop aims to provide all students with a variety of healthy meals and offers the choice of a few treats. We are aware that some children have specific needs or allergies to certain foods; that is why we would like you to contact us if we can be of any assistance in this area.
Children's orders should be written on brown paper bags and placed in the Tuckshop baskets in their classrooms.
LITTLE LUNCH orders need to be collected from the Tuckshop by your child, at the ORDERS ONLY window.
BIG LUNCH orders are retuned to the class in the basket just before the bell rings. All items ordered will be placed in their bag except for jelly, ice cream, and frozies as these items melt and spoil other children's lunches. They can collect their jelly, ice cream or frozie by bringing their bags to the ORDERS ONLY window after the play bell rings. We do not sell ice blocks until second bell (play bell).
Please make sure your child knows about collecting their frozie or ice cream,as we usually have quite a few tears the first week because they did not receive their treat.
Change is always placed in a plastic lunch bag with a knot tied in it and returned in the bag with the lunch. Remind your child to check for change as it is frequently thrown in the bin.
If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on 40906428.
If you would like to become a volunteer at the Tuckshop please pop in or give us a call .
