Kathy Street - Head of Junior School Personal
I’ve been with Education Queensland for twenty-three years, teaching in various locations over Queensland in a number of positions in many sectors of schooling. My most recent positions being in Behaviour Support for a number of years before becoming Head of Junior School at the college.
I am married with three children who all attend the college. My interests are mainly with my children’s, along with touch football, reading and fishing. We have settled well into Weipa life, enjoying what it has to offer, unique to any other part of Queensland . It’s a wonderful thing to be able to go to any event and the children always know someone and feel safe and welcomed. |

My Role
As the Head of Junior School, my main aim is to support our teachers and paraprofessionals who teach our students; and provide a safe, tolerant learning environment for all.
The teaching and learning improves student literacy and numeracy standards and overall outcomes. This support can come in many forms for staff, whether it’s financial, organizational, personal, team building, or professional. For students, it’s providing boundaries and rules and at the same time fulfilling their basic needs, supporting students emotionally and academically. |
